MOSLEM TEENAGERS IN A NEW YEARS CELEBRATION

The tradition of New year celebration is very popular around us. It’s undeniable indeed the New year celebration is  necessity for a most people. We look at around us, many people of moslem do like that. Especially the young moslem like us.  Whereas  home truth there is not the advantages that we can take from the New year celebration. It just a new culture from the western countries.  But the big question now is, why do the moslem around us still like to celebrated the New Years ??? Don’t moslem have known about the negative effect of New year celebration.

We can see at the mass media, how is the television or magazine or news paper and the other media explain more about the celebration of new years. The celebration often used not to be taken seriously. it  just became a fun party. We often find, on the night of New year celebration many teenagers spend their time just for fun like carousal, dating, engage in a gang fight, free sex etc. is it a good act??????? We know that it’s sunning. Nothing good impact that produce by do celebration like that.

But why do many teenagers still do like that? There are some indication which is became the reason of teenagers to do like that. The first is going with the stream. We know that characteristic of teenagers it is always want to do something which do by other friends. They always do it, although they never know it right or wrong. They just don’t want deemed to be teenagers who go out fashion, and want deemed to be a modern teenagers.

And the second indication is milieu. The characteristic of teenagers is still very unstable. As indirect, the teenagers always follow something new in their circles. No care about the impact of that act. Of course if  the teenagers circles is not good we can imagine that it also make the bad effect for the teenagers selves. We should happy because we stay at good circle, and in the Islamic areas. It got us into the habit of  doing the goodness and avoid to do something bad.

And than the third indication is undercommunication of parent’s supervision. We often see, most of juvenile delinquency is also caused by a minimum of parent’s supervision. It makes teenagers feel a free to do something that they want. It’s very dangerous if it left right trough, because teenagers usually do something without long thinking. Of course parent’s actor here is very important, if the parent can look down their children well, the teenagers most certainly will also avoid the bad act. So.. don’t be angry, if our parent clamp down on our action or our behavior. Because it showed that our parents care us and hope we can become the good people in the future.

And the last is minimum religion knowledge. Religion knowledge is very important for the people, especially for the young generation or teenagers. Because it referable or base of foundation for the teenagers. If a teenager have not the religion knowledge, as a consequence will happen some act bad. Like deviation of celebration new year. So… it’s very right if now we are studying about Islamic knowledge.  Because of course it makes us know the goodness and the badness, so we can avoid the bad act which is able to damage our selves.

From the fact now in the home truth, appear that tradition above only make the damages in the formation of moslem teenagers. And tradition above  is very diverge from the morals and  islam percept about the meaning of new year. In the new year celebration, islam order us to always do self-evaluation  and realized the mistakes and the sin up till now. In order we can do self-improvement and tobat in the future.  

I think that is the truth celebration that we should do, with the Islamic way. without do some bad act that make damage for our selves, damage our behavior and surely make the moral decadence in our country. Because we also know that tradition above is satan stratagem and satan trap to heckling the mankind. We can imagine, how broken our Indonesian moral if tradition above still we do.

Really, as the moslem teenagers, every action and our behavior should refer to islam precept not refer to mores and western cultural like above. We must remember, islam does not like pleonastic and islam very propose about the simplicity in the life. That is should we hold on every we will receive the new years.

So… for all moslem teenagers!!! Keep your moral and behavior although you should celebrate the new years! Show indeed you are the true moslem!
